part b: you, the blogger

One thing I am really proud of in terms of my growth is my development as a blogger from last semester to this semester. When visiting a blog, one is immediately either entranced, confused, or irritated by the aesthetic and the style of the website as a whole. In the past few months, I have been working toward a clean, minimalistic design of my blog with the soft rose background and the black and white header image. Though I am still not completely satisfied with the look yet, I hope I can format it to the standard of the blogs I take inspiration from, like Claire’s and Victoria’s. I need to improve with the style of the featured images I put up – black and white with the same mood/tone.

I will definitely continue working on my blog during the summer and next year, particularly on my flash poetry. I currently have shadows and midnight musings finished, and this summer I will be working on one called sunburn. This series is reflective of both my growth as a writer and as a person, and has really become a part of me. The other writers in my class have taught me so much about style, structure, and simplicity. Reading their blogs has been an honour. Although I don’t read any professional blogs, I think I’l start searching for some that I can look at, enjoy, and draw inspiration from.
